Snow Pea Purple – Jupiter

Description

Jupiter Snow Pea seed produces a deep purple, true snow pea, bred in Bendigo. It has medium sized pods, held high on robust 1 -1.5 metre plants with considerable disease resistance to powdery mildew. Needs trellising.

Pods are borne in pairs, and are sweet, low in fibre, with strings along the pod seams like normal snow peas. The colour fades on cooking in water.

Best uses: raw in salads, flash frying.

This is an early release of developmental material, and there is still a small amount of variation with occasional plants showing purple blushes rather than deep purple pods, and some small variation in height. Growers are recommended to further select for lines suited to their conditions and requirements.
